Google redesigned Gmail interface that leaked on the web
Google prepares a major change for Gmail interface and, thanks to a “leaked” information right from the internet giant, the expected re-design can be viewed in a video clip that had appeared on YouTube, but was quickly withdrawn subsequently (scroll down for video and photos).
The biggest change brought to the new design, is based on the Preview theme which is already available in Gmail, but the new version, about to be launched, comes with a number of additional options
The general appearance is “clean, simple and intuitive as possible”, writes Pocket-lint.com. Main page adjust to the user screen so as to match it. Also, the sidebar can be modified to suit the user need, therefore the chat can be moved up and the labels can be hidden.
Another striking feature is the approaching tendency to social media as Google Circles appears to be more integrated in Gmail.

High resolution images can be employed for the themes and the conversation space was redesigned as well as the search bar. Google has not announced yet when changes take effect, but it is likely that the new Gmail will be launched in the coming weeks.

Nokia certainly pulled an ace out of the sleeve and is about to stun its competitors! During Nokia World 2011 conference, the Finnish company presented a new prototype of phone that aims at revolutionizing the mobile industry. The gadget is generically called “Nokia kinetic device” and is designed to be used by flexing the curved screen, not just by touch control (scroll down for video).
Therefore Nokia’s Windows Mobile Phones e.g. Lumia, Asha, announced at the same conference are just simple toys compared to the flexible device.
The introduction of the new concept could change the perspective of using the mobile phones. Advantages, applications:
Besides the touch-control function, the innovative phone features additional advantages granted by its flexibility and curved screen. This method is thought and designed mainly for browsing playlists and photo galleries. For example, by simply flexing the phone you could change a song or you can reject a call.
This revolutionary gadget could be used also by blind people thanks to the nanotechnology at the base of the device. The manufacturing processes of the prototype, determined Nokia to use some bundles of carbon nanotubes whose electrical properties can be modified by stretching.
At the moment, the new released Windows Phone Lumia series (Nokia 800 and Nokia 710), although featuring attractive designs and excellent features, yet have to deal with an almost impossible mission of conquering a market already dominated by iOS and Android-based phones. Perhaps the “flexibility” is the solution.
Meanwhile, Nokia officials have hinted that it will take a while until they release their flexible phone.

The apocalypse was predicted (according to maya calendar) to take place in December 2012, but there is a chance to come a little earlier than expected! This time based on a real threat moving through space and called…”near Earth asteroid” 2005 YU55! (scroll down for video scenarios)
To be or not to be! Will we survive or not over just one month? This is the question which grinds the followers of world apocalyptic theories, shortly before an asteroid as big as two football fields is on schedule to narrowly miss the Earth. While giving assurances that the huge object is not a threat, NASA experts come up with a destruction scenario if an eventual impact occurs.
It looks like this asteroid will pass close to Earth on the night of November 8-9, 2011. It is described as a nearly spherical dark object, with diameter of 400 meters and 55 million tons in weight.

Discovered 6 years ago and named 2005 YU55, this asteroid is the largest object that will get so close to our planet at a distance of just 323,000 kilometers or within 0.85 lunar distances from Terra. Basically, 2005 YU55 will be somewhere between the Earth and Moon. And that only if experts’ predictions prove correct. In the United States, the event is a new opportunity for “the end of the world” prophets to launch apocalyptic messages.
However NASA scientists have trust in their calculations or their lucky star. They have been following the evolution of the asteroid which is thought not to bother us in the next 100 years. In fact, NASA believes that 93% of large size asteroids have been already identified.
The messages are apparently comforting, but the scientists keep looking for solutions to destroy the asteroids that could seriously threaten the Earth. A possibility would be the launch a nuclear missile but that’s not really efficient; instead of distroying a space object, a better method is just to give it a kick (momentum conservation). We will see if everything goes as planned until the next alarm in 2029, when the giant asteroid Apophis could hit Earth.
Update: 2005 YU55 passed nearby Earth on Tuesday (08 Nov 2011) night and continues its trip further into space. The approach was a good opportunity for NASA and astronomers to study a space rock. Anyway we are safe now and escaped once again!

Conspirators believe in UFO close encounter in December 2012
Rumours/conspiration theory: 3 UFO’s are thought to travel through space heading for Earth. At this moment they are suspected to fly nearby Jupiter and planned to arrive on Terra in December 2012 (scroll down for video -mixed En-Ro lang).
Americans want to know everything about aliens and summon President Obama to tell the truth. Thousands of Americans have signed a petition asking the White House to disclose the so-called “X files”.
More and more people are convinced that the U.S. government has information about a possible alien invasion, which could take place in December 2012.
“Someone has to know the truth and you should tell it also to us.” That’s how it sounds the people’s petition that reached the Oval Office. 7,500 people have signed it so far, but the White House is still waiting for 10,000 more signatures to give an official response. The alleged secret files would confirm, in black and white, the alien existence, but also their repeated attempts to contact us.
During the presidential campaign, Obama avoided the answer with a joke (see video below). Now, he is apparently obliged to give a clear answer. It would be the first time an American president speaks openly about aliens.
Several American scientists claim to have detected three huge UFO heading toward our planet. Currently, the UFOs are thought to approach Jupiter, but their path leads to a single destination – the Earth.
And if the theories prove to be true, the alien ships should arrive on Earth in mid-December 2012.
Here, the oppinions of those who believe in close encounter of third kind are divided. Some are convinced that the ships would carry a messenger of peace. Others, by contrast, fear that the aliens sent research spacecrafts before a big invasion. Probably it is better to listen more to Stephen King – Aliens are likely to be hostile.
December 2012 marks the end of the world according to Maya civilization calendar. But what’s the connection between aliens and Maya? A very close one, some researchers said. They believe that aliens helped the ancient civilizations to develop and construct buildings that we actually admire them today. There are thousands of such theories, but no official reaction yet.

Draconid meteor shower is gonna overwhelm the Earth in a fantastic storm on Oct. 8, 2011
Saturday night (8 October 2011) everyone will look up the sky, because the universe will give us a once in a lifetime show. A giant meteor stream called “Draconids” will be seen from all across the planet, but according to a French researcher, Romania will be the best place to spot the falling rocks.

The rain of stars include trillion of particles broken from a giant comet and now entering the Earth’s atmosphere with a breathtaking speed.
According to the Astronomical Observatory of Bucharest, calculations revealed that between 22:00 (Oct.8) and 3:00 a.m (Oct.9) there will be spotted on the sky plenty of falling stars belonging to constellation Draco, which is not far from the bright star Vega.
Many estimations have been made so far but some astronomers expects no less than 1,000 meteors per hour from this “Draconic” storm.
If you want to see the falling meteors with the bare eye, then you must go out of town and look toward the sky for at least an hour.
It looks like October 2011 features an intense astronomical activity regarding the fact that also Elenin comet makes its closest approach to Earth on Oct. 16.

A comet dived into the Sun on Oct. 1, 2011 and triggered to a huge solar blast(Video1).
The footage shows the trace of the comet as approaching the Sun from down-right side and the crash is followed shortly by an eruption seen on upper-left side. However, it is a bit puzzling as the solar explosion is spotted on the opposite side. Would a comet have such an influence to cause a Sun flare diametrically-oposed??? That’s a question that needs to be answered.
Another identical event took place in July 2011 raising lots of speculations that such crashes could affect the Sun’s magnetic field and initiate intense bursts of radiation.
On 5 July and 6 July SOlar and Heliospheric Observatory SOHO’s LASCO C2 camera spotted a sun grazing comet as it collapsed into the sun (see Video2)

865 million dollars project unveils the unseen face of the Sun: stunning images published by NASA.
NASA’s Solar Dynamic Observatory has recently taken a series of stunning photographs of the Sun. Using a novel technique that combines X-Ray and UV-technology, SDO revealed some invisible aspects of the star that warms our planet.
Solar Dynamic Observatory was launched on 11 February 2010. The spacecraft is the most advanced spacecraft ever designed to analyse the sun and its dynamic behavior.
SDO takes images 10 times clearer than HD television and more comprehensive science data faster than any solar observing spacecraft in history.
SDO has disclosed important insights into the solar flares which are known as strong bursts of radiation originating from EM energy release of the solar spots.

On 22 September 2011 the Solar Dynamic Observatory managed to capture a large (X1.4 class) solar flare as well as other smaller flares and a significant coronal mass ejection (see second picture – reddish image). Despite its magnitude, the respective flare was not expected to influence the activity on Earth. Following the intense solar outburst, one can observe magnificent coils of magnetic field lines regrouping themselves. The photos were recorded by NASA’s SDO in extreme ultraviolet light range.
Afer analysing 191 solar explosions recorded by SDO since May 2010, NASA concluded the followings: about 15 percent of the flares feature distinct “late phase flare” that extends from minutes to hours later has never before been completely observed. This late phase which has never before been completely observed, releases much more energy out into space than initially thought.
Besides the compiled photographs NASA posted on its website also several videos showing the solar activity recorded in the last 48 hours.

The Moon was the closest and only celestial body we visited. Of course the mankind dreams at performing a trip to the nearest star but the galactic distances are so huge that the time necessary to cover them exceeds the human lifespan.
Because the interstellar trips might take tens or hundreds of years, the only possibility to complete such missions is to “allow” the travellers to procreate on board the spacecraft.
Now the researchers are a little puzzled because do not know exactly the effects of the space gravity on a pregnancy.
They are not even confident humans would be able to procreate safely in the microgravity of space. “It is still uncertain, if you want kids and you want reproduction, how gravity can influence a successful development,” MIT scientist Dan Buckland unveiled during the 100-Year Starship Symposium, a conference held by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to debate latest technologies and ideas necessary for developing a mission to another star.
The only option to check the outer-space procreation is by starting with a Mars mission, which obviously takes much shorter times.

Frightening phenomenon in the sky of Leresti, a village from Argeş county, Romania. A cloud of fire shaped as a comet, appeared in the evening and terrified the locals (scroll down for video report-RO lang).
Witnessing for the first time such a phenomenon, the villagers prayed not to come the end of the world.
Leresti residents were scared to death when they saw the huge reddish cloud in the sky. They all looked at it for about half an hour.
Many reports claimed recently that comet Elenin C2010/X1 will reach its closest approach to Earth on October 16, 2011.
NASA suspected that the photograph of the stunning blazing cloud might feature a trace related to Elenin comet which aligned with Earth and Sun the previous days.
